Introducing a new statistical model for term weighting, named as Divergince From Independence -DFI- model
Introducing new weighting functions based on Luhn's claim on the relation between the term frequency & the term importance
Active participations in TREC-2009 and TREC-2010 have been carried out with the IR system which was developed around the DFI concept
The performances of the proposed methods in retrieval show that these apporaches can be efficiently used to weight the index terms
